PRODUCTION TEAM

Tommy Malek (Director and Choreographer) has served for the last four years as the Founding Artistic Director of the purple light theatre company and is currently an active board member with Silhouette Stages, Inc. He was most recently seen onstage as The Kid in The Roar of the Greasepaint, The Smell of the Crowd at Compass Rose Theater in Annapolis, MD and as Benny/Iona in Del Shores’ Southern Baptist Sissies at The Audrey Herman Spotlighters’ Theater in Baltimore, MD. Other recent acting credits include Sir Robin in Spamalot (Silhouette Stages, Inc.), Bobby Strong in Urinetown (The Heritage Players), and Hunter in [title of show] (the purple light theatre company). Recent directing/choregraphy credits include MD Theatre Guides Top Show of the Week, the award-winning Young Frankenstein with Silhouette Stages; award-nominated Hairspray with the purple light theatre company; Into the Woods (pltc); and Once Upon a Mattress (UMBC). A native of the Baltimore area, Tommy continues to work as an actor/director in the MD/DC region and currently serves as a Production Assistant and Stage Manager at Toby's Dinner Theatre of Columbia and CCTA. www.tommymalek.com
Nathan C. Scavilla (Vocal Music Director) has music directed, supervised, orchestrated, and conducted many musicals in the Baltimore area. Most recent credits include Young Frankenstein and Legally Blonde at Silhouette Stages and Shrek the Musical at Dundalk Community Theatre. Other recent credits include music directing and keyboard conducting Little Women and The Addams Family Musical at Dundalk Community Theatre. Professional local credits include assistant music directing Hairspray and The Addams Family Musical at Toby’s Dinner Theatre, music directing/keyboard conducting Godspell (2012 version) and The Wedding Singer at Cockpit in Court, music directing Hairspray and [title of show] with the purple light theatre company. Away from the stage, Nathan is the physics teacher at Mt. St. Joseph High School where he also directs the Jazz Combo and coaches JV Tennis.
Donna Hawkes (Stage Manager) is thrilled to return to Silhouette Stages with Cry Baby! Past work with SS includes: Stage Manager for Lucky Stiff, Young Frankenstein, Chicago, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and Noises Off; and Props Master for The Producers. In Summer 2015, Donna was Stage Manager for Really Rosie with The Heritage Players. Prior to stage managing for local theatre companies, Donna was a teacher/director for Beginning Acting at Drama Learning Center (2003 to 2011).
